Calvin Bond is a photographer, adventurer, writer, and wanderer. He started his website (www.sporkandflask.com) in 2016 to share stories and photos from the experiences which have shaped his life. The past five years a whirlwind of travel and adventure - He's thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and the John Muir Trail; he's lived out of the trunk of his Corolla for months at a time; he's road tripped nearly 30,000 miles in the last 2 years; he's endured 10 hour adventure races and 40 mile hikes; he's traversed the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim in one day; he's seen 35 of the 59 National Parks and he intends to see the remainder before he's 30 (2019); he's ski bummed it in Colorado; he's hopped trains; he's eaten 12 snickers in 1 hour. These experiences, wild and erratic, have changed him. These breaths he's seen, these grand places, they leave their footprint not only on his memory but on his being. When you look into the Grand Canyon, you do not see it. You experience it. You feel it. You become it. And that is what Calvin tries to capture in his work.
