It’s officially Winter in Southern California.

Though we still have had some days in the high 70’s, mornings here have been crisp!  With the temps dropping, us California folk must pull out the appropriate apparel.  One popular trend here in the office has been socks and sandals.  To be more specific, Chaco’s and socks or what we have renamed the look “Sockos.”

To some this is a cringe-worthy look, but for those carefree souls this is a go to style!

Our store employee, Nathan, says, “As a born and bred SoCal boy, I must always wear sandals and on the colder days it makes sense to cover my toes with some comfy socks.  My preference is Darn Tough because they are super cush!”  Nathan also noted that he frequently wears the Sockos on approaches in Joshua Tree, “The climbs are often right off the road and you don’t always need a heavy duty approach shoe.  This is the perfect alternative.”

One of our apparel buyers, Amanda, lived in Utah for some time and she says, “This is a very popular look during the transitional seasons.  It’s the perfect dirtbag fashion statement.”

To complete this look we suggest pairing the funkiest socks with sandals or do we dare say, “Mismatched socks??!!”

The questions is would you rock it?

We would love to see your look.  Post an image of you rocking your Sockos and be sure to use our hashtag #ThriveOutside!

Don’t have the product to complete this look?  We gotchu!
